    Shan-E-Dastar India  Tour

The Shan-E-Dastar India Tour by Taj Turban Center is a prestigious traveling cultural initiative and training camp dedicated to preserving, promoting, and teaching the traditional art of Sikh turban tying across India.
The journey began from the historic village of Lang, Patiala, with a vision to spread awareness about Sikh identity, Dastar pride, and Punjabi heritage among the younger generation. The tour was led by Late Gurcharan Singh Gurstar, widely recognized as one of Asia’s leading Sikh models and turban artists, alongside his mother, Sukhwinder Kaur.
With a mission to inspire youth and strengthen cultural roots, the tour traveled across India covering the four sacred Takhts of Sikhism while organizing Dastar training camps, workshops, motivational sessions, and cultural awareness programs in multiple cities including Amritsar, Anandpur Sahib, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Nanded Sahib, Patna Sahib, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Chennai.
The Shan-E-Dastar Tour India became more than just a training initiative - it evolved into a movement dedicated to preserving Sikh traditions and promoting the importance of the Dastar as a symbol of identity, discipline, confidence, and honor. Thousands of young individuals participated in the camps to learn different turban styles, Sikh values, and the significance of maintaining cultural heritage in modern times.
Through live demonstrations, community engagement, and educational sessions, the initiative created a strong impact among Sikh communities across the country. The tour also encouraged youth to proudly embrace their roots and carry forward the legacy of Sikh culture with confidence and respect.
Today, the Shan-E-Dastar Tour India stands as a symbol of dedication, passion, and cultural preservation — continuing the vision and legacy of Late Gurcharan Singh Gurstar and inspiring future generations to keep the pride of the Dastar alive.

Here are the core details of what the tour involves:

    • Turban Camps: The center sets up dedicated, multi-day training camps in major urban hubs across India (including past stops in Mumbai/Vashi, Chennai, and Hyderabad).
    • Skill Development: It provides hands-on, professional training for youth and enthusiasts looking to perfect various turban styles, with a major focus on precision, symmetry, and historical accuracy.
    • Focus on the "Patiala Shahi Pagg": A highlight of their showcase is mastering the classic Patiala Shahi Pagg (5 Larr Wali), typically demonstrating the artistry using premium fabrics like full voile in standard majestic lengths (such as 5.5 meters).
    • Promoting Sikh Heritage: Beyond just the physical tying process, the tour focuses heavily on teaching the history, sanctity, and cultural significance of the Dastar (turban) as an iconic symbol of Sikh identity and pride.

    Sarkar-e-Khalsa International Tour

Late Gurcharan Singh “Gurstar” was the visionary founder of Taj Turban Center and a respected name in the art of Dastar styling. He dedicated his life to preserving and promoting the royal tradition of Sikh turbans while inspiring the younger generation to stay connected with their heritage and identity.
Known for his creativity, discipline, and deep respect for Sikh culture, Gurstar earned recognition for his unique Dastar styling across Punjab and internationally. His passion transformed Taj Turban Center into a trusted name in professional Sikh wedding styling and traditional Dastar artistry.
The Sarkar-E-Khalsa World Tour, promoted by Taj Turban Center, became a global cultural and educational initiative focused on spreading awareness about Sikh heritage, Dastar tradition, and Khalsa identity. Rather than following a fixed route, the tour continued to travel across different regions and countries, connecting communities through culture, education, and inspiration.
During the journey, Gurstar visited countries including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines while conducting Dastar workshops, cultural sessions, Gatka demonstrations, and youth engagement programs.
During the international Dastar tour in the Philippines, Gurstar sadly died while continuing his mission of spreading Sikh heritage across the world. His dedication toward the Panth and the art of Dastar remains an inspiration for generations to come.
Today, his vision lives on through the Sarkar-E-Khalsa International Dastar Tour and the continuing work of Taj Turban Center — carrying forward the pride, royalty, and legacy of the Sikh Dastar worldwide.
